I am a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University with a B.A. (Hons) in Garden Art and Design, graduating with First Class Honours, my final year garden design option was awarded the highest mark. The degree gave me the opportunity to study in depth the history of landscape design, our greatest designers and the underlying principles and theories which inform the design process at one of the best places in the country to study the subject.
During this time I also had the wonderful opportunity to work at Harewood House with Trevor Nicholson the head Gardener updating the Topographical Tree survey and doing research for The Sino-Himalayan garden. I have retained a particular interest in both Harewood and trees!!
Prior to that I completed the Introduction to Garden Design Course at Harlow Carr with Marilyn Elm where I attained a distinction.
I have had a life long interest in landscape form and design with my first degree (a little while ago) being a Geography B.A. (Hons) from University College London.
